RENAISSANCE
*

Renaissance is the Museums Libraries and Archives Council's (MLA) groundbreaking initiative, investing in and transforming regional museums. Nearly £150m of Renaissance funding has now been allocated to England's museums - the first investment of this kind ever to be made by central government. Hubs, consortia of regional museums, are at the heart of this programme and are responsible for delivering the majority of the programme.

Renaissance London is delivered through a partnership between the London Museums Hub and MLA London, and they have a shared vision:

"Our mission is to support and promote London's museums.  We will work in partnership to ensure that the sector's unique cultural, knowledge and learning resources are made accessible for the benefit of all Londoners and contribute to London's status as a world class city"

In London since 2003/4, Renaissance investment has delivered higher levels of school usage, a range of innovative programmes designed to improve the range and reach of museum services across the capital, all enabling new connections to be forged between people and collections.
